OK, when a car gets painted it looks pretty good.  But when pretty good ain’t good enough a guy color sands the car with fine wet-or-dry paper to remove all of the texture and any dust that landed in the job and then buffs is with progressively fine compounds and wheels to get a show winning shine.

When the car is completely wet sanded to, normally, 1,500 grit, the shine is knocked down to a perfectly flat hazy finish that comes out when buffed.

It’s always amazing to me how much time is spent achieving a perfect shine like this on a classic restoration job.  A car like this Continental takes about 200 hours of labor to get to this point.
