Oh, man, click on this photo, quick…Isn’t that just amazing? This ’32 Ford we did got used for a fingernail polish ad or something when we were done with it and the agency sent me this awesome photo. Good photography really matters!
So I’m thinking, my website has tons of cars on it, but I have photos of about a hundred more that I never put on the site over the years. It’s fun building cars and meeting people and driving too fast and goofing off with my kids…sometimes I forget to sit in front of a screen.
That’s why I’ve decided to bring one of these earlier restorations, hot rods, repairs, paint jobs, interiors, or whatever, up every week or so to share with you here on the blog. Most days I will be updating the current work, but then I’ll toss in one of these cars that I did in years past just for fun.
And man, talk about fun! This ’32 Ford Hot Rod is just about a handful of it. Well, maybe more than a handful judging by the crash damage here!
Fist thing you do is turn the wheel all the way left, romp on the go-pedal, then watch the world go in circles until it’s so smoky you can’t see nothin’, then blam into a pole real good. At least that’s one way you get to meet me.
This photo is of the car after the frame was jigged up on the frame rack, stretched as best it could be, then the bent stuff is cut off and new frame sections welded on. The weld is smoothed out and filled.
This ’32 Ford Hot Rod got thumped good enough that the transmission housing broke. So we built up a new transmission and painted it this real subtle yellow so it blended in real good.
Before the big smoky donuts this ’32 Ford had a basic black paint job with little spider motif doodles painted here and there. Whatever. But flames! How can you go wrong! This custom flame job is a nice nod to the traditional ’32 Hot Rod thing, but with a little color change and a gob of flake. Just for grins, click on this photo, too…it’s just my crummy photography, but isn’t that flake the coolest?
Then I call the pinstripe guy and he does his thing…
I have more photos of this monster, just let me know and I can send some along to you. Thanks for stopping by!
